Is nestled against the majestic Magaliesberg Mountain Range.
The tranquil surroundings overlooking the mountain is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Wildebeesthoek Nature Reserve is situated in De Wildt only an hour’s drive from Johannesburg and just outside Pretoria towards Hartebeespoortdam.
The reserve is a must for bird watchers as this is an absolute bird watching paradise with walking trails on the reserve for guests only, as well as for those who like a bit of a challenge, up into the mountain with various game on the reserve to see while walking and watching.
At night, memories can be made while relaxing around a big campfire and listening to all the night sounds like jackal and nightjars.

No, driving around the property with your own vehicles is not allowed. However, we do have walking trails available for you to explore!

No, daily visitors are not allowed.
Things To Do At Wildebeesthoek Nature Reserve
There are three colour coded hiking trails on the reserve
- The Orange or Savanna trail is 2.5km and will take you on the plateau of the reserve
The Green or Woodlands trail is approximately 3km and the trail is suited for all age groups.
We have a beautiful bird hide on the Green trail for you to use at your leisure. There you can see animals and birds enjoying the cool water.
The Red or Mountain trail is approximate 4.5km and is a more challenging trail that will take you to the top of the Magalies Mountain range.
